Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you'll be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. After settling in, visit the National Museum of Bhutan housed in the ancient Ta-Dzong watchtower, offering fascinating insights into Bhutanese culture and history. In the afternoon, explore Paro Rinpung Dzong, an impressive fortress-monastery that exemplifies traditional Bhutanese architecture.

Today's highlight is the iconic hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest), perched dramatically on a cliff 900 meters above the valley floor. This sacred site is where Guru Rinpoche first introduced Buddhism to Bhutan in the 8th century. The 4-5 hour round-trip hike offers spectacular views and a profound spiritual experience. For those preferring a less strenuous option, horses can be arranged for part of the journey.
Overnight: Paro
After breakfast, drive to Thimphu, Bhutan's charming capital city (approximately 1.5 hours). Visit the impressive Buddha Dordenma statue, which offers panoramic views over the valley. Explore the Memorial Chorten, continuously circumambulated by devotees, and visit the Folk Heritage Museum to understand traditional Bhutanese lifestyle. If time permits, visit the traditional paper-making factory and witness this ancient craft in action.
Overnight: Thimphu
Spend a full day exploring Thimphu's highlights. Visit Tashichho Dzong, the impressive fortress that houses the throne room and offices of the king. Explore the Simply Bhutan Museum for an interactive cultural experience, and visit the National Institute for Zorig Chusum where students learn traditional arts and crafts. In the afternoon, stroll through the weekend market (if visiting Friday-Sunday) or visit local handicraft shops. Conclude with a visit to Changangkha Lhakhang, one of Thimphu's oldest temples.

Journey to Punakha, crossing the scenic Dochula Pass (3,100m) adorned with 108 memorial chortens. On clear days, enjoy spectacular views of the Himalayan peaks. Visit Punakha Dzong, arguably Bhutan's most beautiful fortress, situated at the confluence of two rivers. In the afternoon, take a pleasant walk through rice fields to Chimi Lhakhang, the fertility temple dedicated to the Divine Madman, Drukpa Kunley.
Overnight: Punakha
After a leisurely morning in Punakha valley, drive back to Paro via Dochula Pass. Stop at Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress in Bhutan built in 1629. Spend the afternoon at leisure in Paro, perhaps exploring the town's charming shops and cafes, or simply relaxing at your hotel with views of the valley.
Overnight: Paro
After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward journey. Your guide will assist with departure formalities, bidding you farewell with memories of an authentic Bhutanese experience.
